Kali ini laptop merek Toshiba tidak bisa booting melalui CD/DVD dan flash disk. Tepatnya Toshiba Satelite C40-A, dengan pesan “Media Check: Fail“, mungkin juga ditemukan hal yang sama pada laptop merek Toshiba tipe lainnya. Setelah Googling ada salah satu solusi yang mudah, yaitu dengan mematikan fitur Secure Boot dan mengganti Boot Mode menjadi CSM Boot, berikut Langkahnya.

1. Masuk ke BIOS dengan meneken tombol F2.
2. Pilih tab Security, pada pilihan Secure Boot, ubah menjadi disable.
3. Kemudian pilih tab Advanced, pilih System Configuration, pilih Boot Mode, ubah dari UEFI Boot menjadi CSM Boot.
4. Keluar dan simpan konfigurasi dengan menekan F10, Yes.
5. Silahkan coba booting.

USB Tray Icon Missing / recover lost or missing system tray icon

1. Back up the Registry by creating a restore point.
2. Go to Start > Run (or Windows-key + R), type in regedit and hit OK.
3. Navigate to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TrayNotify.
4. Delete the values IconStreams and PastIconsStream.
5. Open up the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), go to the Processes tab, select explorer.exe and click End Process.
6. Open the Applications tab and click New Task at the bottom-right of the window.
7. In the message box that pops up type in explorer.exe and hit OK.
8. Explorer.exe will reload, and the missing icons should now be back in the system-tray where they belong.
9. Then if the volume bar isn't there, go to taskbar properties (where the volume was gray) and simply tick the box.

Flashdisk Tidak Terbaca di Komputer | USB Best Storage

Flashdisk Tidak Terbaca di Komputer | USB Best Storage – Pernahkah anda mengalami kerusakan USB Flashdisk ? Seperti flashdisk terdeteksi namun ketika di klik drive flashdisk tersebut muncul tulisan Insert Disk (Please Insert a Disk Into Drive x :) seperti gambar berikut.



Kejadian ini menimpa saya ketika beberapa waktu yang lalu dan sedikit pusing untuk memperbaikinya. Masalahnya adalah flashdisk tersebut tidak bermasalah dengan device/driver dan timbul drive flashdisk tersebut di My Computer. Namun ketika di klik akan timbul pesan Please Insert a Disk seperti gambar di atas.

Dengan bermodalkan searching di google maka di dapatkan beberapa alternatif yaitu :

Memformat hardisk -> Klik Kanan Drive Flashdisk dan Format atau bisa juga lewat Command Prompt dengan perintah : format [driveflasdisk]:

Cara ini tidak berhasil karena drive Flashdisk tidak terdeteksi.
Partisi ulang drive Flashdisk -> klik kanan drive flashdisk, klik manage.

Kemudian klik kanan removable drive partition flashdisk tersebut dan klik Change Drive Letter and Paths.

Cara ini juga tidak berhasil

Pernah juga coba dengan software tool usb untuk HP (nama toolnya lupa) namun tak jua membuahkan hasil dan pesan error juga tetap muncul di flashdisk.

Akhirnya dapat juga software untuk memperbaiki flashdisk rusak tersebut, nama softwarenya Super Stick Recovery ToolsV1.0.2.19.

Colokkan flashdisk
Jalankan software maka akan lansung mendeteksi device driver usb flashdisk
Selanjutnya klik Update.

Notes : Tool ini pernah saya coba untuk 2 jenis flashdisk yaitu Kingston dan USB best Storage. Untuk jenis yang lain belum dicoba. Tool ini juga sepertinya tidak mampu untuk memperbaiki flashdisk yang mati total.

How Rules Are Applied

For example, if you specify "Bob Green" as the sender (condition), and "Marketing Meeting" (condition) in the Subject box, the rule only applies to messages that meet both conditions.

If you set multiple conditions in one rule, messages that meet any of the conditions in the rule are found. For example, if you specify "Bob Green; Jeffrey Weems," in the From box, the rule applies to messages from either Bob Green or Jeffrey Weems.

To specify that a rule must be the last one applied, click to select the Do not process subsequent rules check box (in the Add Rule or Edit Rule dialog box).

When you specify an action for a rule and the action cannot be performed, an error message appears with an "X" next to the rule. To fix the error, click Edit Rule, and then make any necessary changes.

Make Out of Office Assistant in Outlook Express

The Out Of Office Assistant is not available in Outlook Express. You may be able to duplicate its functionality by applying message rules.

The Out of Office Assistant is a feature of Microsoft Outlook that enables you to automatically reply to e-mail messages from people who send you mail when you are not available. Outlook Express does not have this functionality. To simulate the functionality of an Out of Office Assistant in Outlook Express you must first create an out of office message, and then an out of office rule. Additionally, it is important to remember that this function only works while Outlook Express is running and logged on to the e-mail server.
How to Create an Out of Office Message

1. Start Outlook Express.
2. Click File, New, and then click Mail Message.
3. Type the message that you want to use as an out of office message, click File, and then click Save As.
4. Enter a name for the mail message in the File name box, select the folder that you want to save the mail message in, and then click Save.
5. Close the message and proceed to the steps to create the out of office rule.

How to Create an Out of Office Rule

1. Start Outlook Express.
2. On the Tools menu, point to Message Rules, and then click Mail.
3. Click New.
4. In the Select the Conditions for your rule dialog box, click to select the For All Messages check box.
5. In the Select the Actions for your rule dialog box, click to select the Reply with Message check box.
6. In the Rule Description dialog box, click Message.
7. In the Open dialog box, locate the file that you named in the "How to Create an Out of Office Message" section, click the file, and then click Open.
8. In the Name of the Rule dialog box, name the rule, and then click OK.
9. Click OK to close the Message Rules dialog box.

Configuring Windows XP for Multiple Languages
You can add, enable, and configure support for multiple languages using the Regional Settings tool in the Control Panel.

To change the default language:

The Language Bar

The Multilingual User Interface Pack, an add-on pack to the English version of Windows XP Professional, lets you change the user interface language for each user. - IT administrators will no longer need to deploy multiple localized versions of the operating system. This will speed deployments, reduce operating system images, and lower cost of ownership.”

For the average user, the Windows XP Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUIP, available in 33 languages) means more control over the language of the keyboard. Although you can switch the language for the entire on-screen user interface (i.e., dialog boxes and menus in German instead of English), most people won't want to do that.

The MUIP runs on top of the English version of Windows XP Pro and is an improved version of the MUIP that came with Windows 2000. The Multilingual User Interface Pack is only available together with Windows XP Pro, and must installed separately after the Windows XP operating system installation.

Office/Word XP (Mac and Windows)
Thanks to the German dictionary, thesaurus and grammar checker now included on the Word XP CD-ROM, you now can check a document in German or mixed English-and-German for grammar and spelling. Install Windows XP lewat USB Flash Disk

Menginstall Windows XP di perangkat komputer yang tak memiliki drive optik memang susah-susah gampang. Salah satu metode yang biasa dipakai antara lain memanfaatkan DVDROM external berbasis USB atau langsung memakai USB Flashdisk sebagai media installernya. Nah berikut adalah tutorial tentang bagaimana mempersiapkan USB Flashdisk sebagai Installer Windows XP.

*) Pertama alat dan bahan

1. Sebuah komputer atau laptop yang dilengkapi optical drive (CD atau DVD) dan port USB yang bekerja baik.
2. Sebuah USB flashdisk berkapasitas minimal 1 GB.
3. CD instalasi Windows Xp. Ane tadi pake yang SP 2.
4. Aplikasi pembuat modul instalasi

*) Langkah-langkahnya

1. Tancapkan USB flashdisk ke salah satu port USB. Ingat-ingat posisi drive-nya. Apakah F:, G:, H:, dan sebagainya.

2. Masukkan CD instalasi Windows XP ke CD atau DVD drive. Jika komputer menjalankan proses instalasi secara otomatis, batalin aja and tutup semua aplikasi yang berjalan.

3. Ekstrak aplikasi yang di download tadi. Ekstrak seluruh isinya ke sebuah folder, semisal C:\XPUSB (bikin folder baru).

4. Selanjutnya, buka folder di mana temen-temen mengekstrak aplikasi modul pembuat instalasi, kali ini kita ambil contoh C:\XPUSB.

5. Jalankan file bernama “usb_prep8.bat” maka di layar monitor muncul jendela Command Prompt berisi macam-macam perintah. Jika sudah muncul tulisan “Press any key to continue” tekan sembarang tombol untuk konfirmasi.

6. Di layar akan muncul jendela PEtoUSB yang minta memformat USB flashdisk temen-temen. Settingnya nggak usah di ubah-ubah, langsung klik Start untuk mulai format. Jawab konfirmasi sesuai kebutuhan.

7. Kalau udah selesai, tutup jendela PEtoUSB (jangan menutup jendela Command Prompt yang tadi terbuka ketika temen-temen menjalankan usb_prep8.bat), maka di layar akan muncul opsi-opsi dari 0 hingga 5.

8. Gunakan opsi 1 untuk memilih sumber file instalasi yang nantinya akan dicopy ke flashdisk. Tentukan di drive mana temen-temen menyimpan instalasi Windows XP. Pilih aja optical drive di mana ada CD Windows XP nya yang tadi dimasukin.

9. Pilih opsi 3 untuk menentukan di mana temen-temen mencolokan flashdisk. Kalau flashdisk berada di drive F:, maka ketik F dan tekan ENTER. Jika drive G: maka ketik G dan tekan ENTER.

10. Selanjutnya pilih opsi 4 untuk mulai proses pembuatan modul instalasi yang nantinya akan dicopy ke flash disk secara otomatis. Jawab semua konfirmasi yang muncul dengan Y atau YES atau OK.

Selesai! Kini USB flashdisk temen-temen udah siap buat nginstall Windows XP! Jangan lupa kalau mau nginstal di setting dulu BIOS (tekan F2 saat booting) netbook temen-temen. Pilih BOOT –> Removeable Disk (atau apa pun nama lainnya) sebagai yang pertama dijalankan saat booting..

Explained in details- if the line is NOT present and you attempt to do Repair install from the USB disk/stick, Setup will NOT see your Windows installation.
This entry in the boot menu must NOT be used to start Windows, exactly as it says- "NOT to Start Microsoft Windows XP Professional".

If you are not planning to do Repair install simply remove the line from BOOT.INI.
If you are planning to to Repair install, but the line bothers you- simply decrease the timeout in BOOT.INI to 5,3,1... seconds.

The fix to the problem is very simple as it turns out - simply run the following commands by typing it into the Start/Run command box. Use the line with Office\11.0 if you have Office 2003 installed and Office\12.0 if you have Office 2007 installed. You can use both if you have both installed :

Cara Recovery Gagal Bios CQ40

Saya dapet job untuk service Notebooknya Client, dia minta Downgrade OS ( Operating SYSTEM ) yang tadinya Windows VISTA ke Windows XP. Terang saja HP compaq CQ40 harus di downgrade BIOS terlebih dahulu agar sound-nya bisa jalan di Windows xp, Nagh, ini dia masalahnya,

setelah saya downgrade tuh BIOS_nya ternyata Notebook HP CQ40-337TU nya tewas crying alias gak bisa Booting ( inikah dia yang disebut gagal downgrade BIOs ?

dalam hati bertanya2, setelah buka Google, alangkah terkejutnya setalah saya tau jawabanya, ternyta tugh Notebook HP CQ40-337TU nya tewas atao gak bisa booting karena efek dari gagal Downgrade BIOS,

Astagfirullah………

apakah ini Cobaan ??

Tapi percayalah setiap masalah pasti ada jalan keluarnya ;) dan akhirnya saya menemukan solusi terbaik yang membuat BIOS dari Notebook HP CQ40-337TU kembali hidup :)

berikut langsung ajah saya kasih tahu Cara Recovery Bios pada Compaq CQ40 karena Gagal Downgrade Bios;

- cari Download BIOS dari Notebook HP CQ40 anda, typenya harus benar2 sesuai, karena kadang beda type beda Type Bios, Cari ajah di website resmi HPnya, biasanya download BIOS juga terdapat pada driver list. Biasanya bernama Winflash Win. Vista BASED

- Setelah menemukan yang pas, install ke Flashdisk file Tsb ( bisa diinstall dari komputer lain dengan path ke removeable drive / Flasdisk ),

- setelah terinstall, ke path Flashdisk, rename file 30F7F04.FD menjadi 30F7.BIN, biasanya ada 2 file yang berektensi FD, tapi anda harus mencobanya satu satu.

- Cabut Batre Notebook anda yang biosnya pengen direcovery TSB, cabut Juga kabel powernya.

- Colokin Flashdisk yang sudah berisi file BIos / WINflash tsb. ke salah satu port USB Notebook.

- tekan tombol “B” + tombol “Windows” pada keyboard, tahan, pasang AC Power, tekan tombol Powernya, setelah terlihat LED touchpad berwarna merah lepaskan “B” + “windosnya”.

- setelah terdengar bunyi BIP, biarkan saja hingga Notebooknya shoutdown dengan denga sendirinya,

- Cabut Flashdisknya, nyalakan power notebook.

Alhamdulillah….melalui langkah2 diatas saya berhasil meRecovery Bios pada Compaq CQ40 karena Gagal Downgrade Bios happy

mungkin kerja keras adalah energi kita untuk bisa berhasil atau menyelesaikan masalah.

Downgrade Bios Notebook Compaq CQ-40

Semakin hari semakin banyak saja penggemar notebook atau laptop. Dan sepertinya ini akan menggeser Handphone yang beberapa tahun lalu juga booming, dan sekarang bisa dibilang setiap orang punya handphoe. Notebook yang sedang saya omongkan disini adalah notebook Compaq dengan keluaran terbarunya seri CQ dengan CQ-40 yang banyak penggemarnya. Benar ga ya penggemar Compaq CQ-40, atau mungkin karena seri terbaru yang keluar adalah seri CQ maka sekarang banyak yang membeli notebook Compaq seri CQ-40. Yang jelas saat ini hampir semua pembeli notebook Compaq membeli seri CQ, baik seri CQ-20, CQ-40, CQ-45 ataupun CQ-60.

Ngomong-ngomong masalah notebook Compaq seri CQ-40 mungkin ada sedikit atau banyak yang bingung dengan notebook tersebut. Apa gerangan penyebabnya? Kalau diinstall XP nggak bisa keluar suara atau audionya. Tau penyebabnya apa? Karena masalah dengan BIOSnya. Agar bisa keluar suara atau audionya maka kita harus downgrade ke versi F. 11E. Untuk masalah sebenarnya apa yang terjadi kenapa harus di downgrade ke versi F. 11E saya sendiri kurang tahu menahu, silahkan tanyakan ke yang lebih ahli.
Apakah kalau didowngrade nggak akan menurunkan performa notebook? Menurut saya sih nggak, nggak tahu kalau menurut yang lebih ahli atau lebih paham dengan komputer. Lalu apa nggak ada efek sampingnya didowngrade? Jawab saya, ADA…!
Efek samping dari downgrade ke versi F.11E

1. Lampu indikator saat notebook di Charge posisi mati tidak fungsi atau menyala. Ini sebenarnya tidak ada masalah, karena sebenarnya baterai tetap mencharge atau ngisi, hanya saja indikatornya mati. Untuk tahu full atau belum dikira-kira saja biasanya berapa jam, mungkin 1 s/d 2 jam.
2. Beberapa fungsi tombol keyboard yang difungsikan bersamaan dengan tombol fn tidak fungsi. Menurut saya ini tidak fatal, karena beberapa tombol tersebut memang tidak terlalu penting.
3. Menghilangkan bunyi TUK-TUK. Dibeberapa seri CQ-40 hampir sebagian besar bunyi seperti itu. Tapi itu bukan suatu maslah, karena itu normal, katanya. Nash downgrade ini bisa mengurangi bunyi TUK-TUK tersebut, namun tidak 100% hilang, hanya mengurangi, lumayan kan…?
4. Audio bisa terdeteksi. Jika sebelum didowngrade ke F.11E Audionya tidak bisa deteck, maka setelah didowngrade bisa deteck atau bisa diinstall.
Semua ini nanti bisa dikembalikan atau menghilangkan efek samping tersebut jika kita mengupgrade kembali BIOSnya ke F.24.

Cara Downgrade Compaq CQ-40

1. Lihat dulu di bios apakah versi yang digunakan sudah versi F.11 atau masih F.12
Jika sudah F11 maka berarti biosnya sudah di downgrade. Caranya anda harus masuk BIOS dengan menekan F10 saat booting.
2. Setelah melakukan Instalasi windows jalankan file BIOS F.11E yang sudah saya sertakan dibawah ini, lalu setelah ter-extract jalankan winplash.bat, setelah itu baru jalankan InsydeFlash.exe
3. Downgrade bios ini hanya untuk cq40 dengan processor INTEL
4. Untuk lebih amannya Install ulang windows anda baik XP ataupun Vista.
Jangan melakukan Instalasi aplikasi apapun jika akan melakukan downgrade, karena bisa berakibat sangat fatal
5. Gunakan adaptor untuk melakukan downgrade bios.
6. Pastikan bahwa notebook cq40 anda berstatus garansi,
Hal ini untuk menjaga saat kegagalan dalam melakukan downgrade notebook masih bisa di garansikan
7. Saya tidak menjamin akan keberhasilan saat anda melakukan DOWNGRADE BIOS,
Jadi berpikirlah yang jernih. Jika takut bawa saja ke service center HP terdekat di kota anda

Ok kali ini saya akan membahas mengenai "Unlock MOBI ke SMART" atau bahasa "kita"-nya, Merubah koneksi Mobi ke koneksi Smart. yang akan kita rubah dalam hal ini adalah modem Pantech px 500.(akhirnya setelah googling kesana kemari dan mencoba beberapa trik)

Kita tau akhir-akhir ini Smart dan Mobi berlomba-lomba mengeluarkan paket unlimited murah..

mobi mengeluarkan paket unlimited yang sangat murah. akan tetapi mobi memiliki kelemahan, yaitu sinyal EVDO yang kurang luas penyebaranya.
Smart jg demikian, mengeluarkan paket yang sama murah, tetapi Smart memiliki kelemahan pada harga modem yang masih mahal...

so...

Solusi yang akan saya tawarkan adalah kita akan merubah modem mobi kita, yaitu Pantech px 500 dengan koneksi Smart...

Ayo kita mulai...

1. Pertama-tama tentu saja kita harus memiliki Modem Pantech px 500 yang dikeluarkan oleh mobi.(g punya?? beli dulu atuh)

2. Kita hrs memiliki No Smart yang masih aktif (klo dah g Aktif buang aja.. he3X), kita daftarkan paket unlimited silver. dan yang pasti kita harus tau MIN dan ESN Number no Smart kita.--dalam hal ini ada banyak referensi, tapi yang paling mudah adalah tentu saja pergi ke cs Smart dan tanya MIN dan ESN Number-nya--

Setelah kedua hal itu ada maka saatnya beraksi....

Yang akan kita lakukan pertama adalah meng-upgrade Pantech PX 500 ke PC 5750. Caranya...
1. Download Software-nya dulu disini..
2. setelah di downoad jalankan software-nya dan akan terlihat sepreti ini...




pasang modem anda dan pastikan modem tidak terkonect ke internet....
klick "Step 1" tunggu beberapa lama kemudian klik next...




klik "step 2" dan anda akan menginstal QickLink Mobile sekaligus Driver PC 5750...
anda telah berhasil meng-upgrade Pantech PX 500 ke PC 5750. menuju ke langkah berikutnya..

berikutnya kita akan mem-back up file di modem mobi kita...
1. Downlload dan instal QPST disini...
2. hehehe hampir lupa rubah Port Pantech px 500/PC 5750 anda ke COM1 atau COM2. caranya tinggal ganti properties-nya di device manager...










Setelah Pantech PX 500 ter-upgrade ke PC5750 dan file ter-back up, Saatnya kita merubah MIN dan ESN Mobi Dengan Smart.
1. Download CDMA Workshop+Crack Disini... oia sebelum anda meng-ekstrak rar-nya pastikan anda mematikan anti virus anda. hehe maklum Crack. ekstrak dan jalankan CDMA Workshop+Crack
2. Rubah Port menjadi COM1 atau COM2 dan klik Connect. (pastikan modem anda tidak terkoneksi dengan apapun, karena jika iya maka CDMA Workshop+Crack anda tidak akan bisa terkoneksi.



3. Setelah modem terkoneksi dengan CDMA Workshop+Crack maka kita bisa meng-klik read. dan... terlihat semua data yang kita inginkan. oia pastikan anda men-save data anda agar bila terjadi kesalahan, anda bisa dengan mudah mengembalikannya.
4. Ke menu Nam dan rubahlan beberapa data seperti ini :



terakhir klik write dan kembali ke main menu dan disconnect...

langkah berikutnya adalah membaca dan menulis A key
1. download dan instal software-nya disini..
2. jalankan a key reader dan ubah port menjadi COM1 atau COM2
3. masukan ESN Smart dan klik "Write A-key after generation"




anda telah berhasil merubah Mobi menjadi Smart..

langkah berikutnnya adalah...
jalankan alltel QickLink Mobile dan Connect dengan Acces data Evdo 1x...

Remove the Windows Welcome Screen

If you dont want to use "Fast User Switching", you may want to disable the Welcome Screen. You must be logged in as an Administrator to do this. Note:To do this follow the directions below:

1) Click on Start
2) Click on Control Panel
3) Double-click on User Accounts
4) Click on "Change the way users log on or off"
5) Uncheck "Use the Welcome Screen" (note: this will also disable "Fast User Switching")
6) Click on Apply Options
7) Close the User Accounts window and the Control Panel
8) The next time you reboot your computer, the classic login prompt will be used

What if I dont want the Welcome Screen OR the classic prompt? Can I disable both?

To Login automatically to a user account, follow the instructions below:

1) Click on Run
2) Type in the following command and click OK

3) Highlight the user you want to log into automatically, then uncheck the box for

"Users must enter a username and password to use this computer"

4) Click on Apply and you'll be asked to verify the username and password to log in automatically
5) Click OK and the next time you restart your computer, you'll automatically be logged in without having the classic prompt or Welcome Screen.

Is there a utility I can use to accomplish this?

You can download a utility for Windows XP called TweakUI that will allow you to change the way you log into Windows XP, along with allowing you to change alot of other features.
