- pilih Preferences
- di Menu General, uncheck "open weblinks in new browser window"

Jakarta - Pembaca, saat ini, keberadaan laptop mungil tengah menawan hati sebagian besar pengguna komputer jinjing. Bagaimana tidak? Walaupun terkadang spesifikasi sebuah subnotebook tidak semumpuni notebook-notebook berukuran lebih besar, ukurannya yang mini dan kemampuannya yang dapat mengakomodasi kebutuhan berkomputer sehari-hari menjadikan subnotebook sebagai salah satu gadget yang sangat diminati, disamping harganya yang lebih terjangkau, tentu saja.

Nah, salah satu usaha produsen subnotebook untuk "merampingkan" produknya adalah dengan meniadakan perangkat optical drive, seperti CD-ROM/RW atau DVD-ROM/RW. Komponen yang digunakan untuk mengakses keping CD atau DVD ini memang cukup menyita ruang dan sumber daya.

Sebagai konsekuensinya, pemilik subnotebook tak dapat mengakses CD atau DVD di subnotebook-nya, atau terpaksa membeli external optical drive yang tetap dijalankan via port USB yang tersedia.

Nah, lewat artikel ini penulis ingin berbagi tips membuat modul instalasi Windows XP menggunakan media USB flash disk, yang tentunya akan menghemat biaya dan menjadikan pembaca lebih pintar. Modul instalasi ini tak hanya dapat diimplementasikan dalam instalasi ke subnotebook saja, tapi juga dapat diaplikasikan pada komputer mana pun yang sudah memiliki fitur untuk booting via USB.

"Gampang! Tinggal salin file instalasi Windows XP ke flash disk!" Mungkin itu yang terlintas di benak Anda, tapi percayalah bahwa membuat modul instalasi Windows XP tidak semudah itu. Namun jangan khawatir, karena dengan mengikuti langkah-langkah berikut, proses pembuatan modul instalasi Windows XP pun tak terlalu sulit dilakukan.

Yang Harus Disiapkan:

1. Sebuah komputer yang dilengkapi optical drive (CD atau DVD) dan port USB yang dapat bekerja dengan baik.
2. Sebuah USB flash disk berkapasitas 1 atau 2 GB.
3. CD instalasi Windows XP.
4. Aplikasi pembuat modul instalasi (USB_PREP8 dan PEtoUSB) yang dapat diunduh cuma-cuma melalui link http://www.sendspace.com/file/7n781n
5. Do'a dan keberanian!

Langkah-langkah Pembuatan:

1. Tancapkan USB flash disk ke salah satu port USB. Ingat-ingat posisi drive-nya. Apakah F:, G:, H:, dan sebagainya.

2. Saat Anda berada di posisi normal (desktop), masukkan CD instalasi Windows XP ke optical drive. Jika komputer menjalankan proses instalasi secara otomatis, batalkan saja dan tutup semua aplikasi yang tengah berjalan.

3. Unduh dan ekstrak aplikasi yang penulis berikan. Saran penulis, ekstrak seluruh isinya ke sebuah folder, semisal C:\USB.

4. Selanjutnya, buka folder di mana Anda mengekstrak aplikasi modul pembuat instalasi, kali ini kita ambil contoh C:\USB.

5. Jalankan file bernama "usb_prep8.bat" maka di layar monitor akan tampak jendela Command Prompt berisi macam-macam perintah. Jika sudah muncul tulisan "Press any key to continue," tekan sembarang tombol untuk konfirmasi.

6. Di layar akan muncul jendela PEtoUSB yang meminta Anda memformat USB flash disk Anda. Tak perlu mengubah setting apa pun, langsung klik Start untuk mulai proses format. Jawab konfirmasi sesuai kebutuhan Anda.

7. Jika sudah selesai, tutup jendela PEtoUSB (jangan menutup jendela Command Prompt yang tadi terbuka ketika Anda menjalankan usb_prep8.bat), maka di layar akan muncul opsi-opsi dari 0 hingga 5.

8. Gunakan opsi 1 untuk memilih sumber file instalasi yang nantinya akan disalin ke flash disk. Disini, tentukan di drive mana Anda menyimpan instalasi Windows XP. Pilih saja optical drive di mana sudah ada CD Windows XP di dalamnya, atau pilih folder pilihan Anda jika Anda telah menyalin file instalasi Windows XP ke folder tertentu.

9. Pilih opsi 3 untuk menentukan di mana Anda mencolok flash disk. Kalau flash disk Anda berada di drive F:, maka ketik F dan tekan ENTER. Jika drive G: maka ketik G dan tekan ENTER, begitu seterusnya berlaku untuk drive lain.

10. Selanjutnya pilih opsi 4 untuk mulai proses pembuatan modul instalasi yang nantinya akan disalin ke flash disk secara otomatis. Jawab apa pun konfirmasi yang muncul dengan Y atau YES atau OK atau bentuk persetujuan lain.

Selesai! Kini flash disk Anda telah siap digunakan untuk instalasi Windows XP! Silahkan melakukan setting pada BIOS subnotebook Anda, dan pilih Removeable Disk (atau apa pun nama lainnya) sebagai media pertama yang dijalankan saat booting.

Mengingat teknik instalasi semacam ini juga tersedia di internet, Anda juga bisa mencarinya via mesin cari. Selamat mencoba...!

Mengatasi masalah NTLDR Missing di windows XP sedikit lebih mudah karena Win XP memiliki opsi repair dalam bootable installer CD nya jadi gak perlu bikin-bikin boot disket. Yang harus anda lakukan adalah

* Set bios komputer anda supaya first boot nya adalah CD drive.
* Masukan CD Installer Windows XP anda, Kemana??? tentu saja ke CDROM/DVDROM Drive bukan ke tempat yang lain.
* Boot komputer anda
* Ketika pilihan press anykey to boot from CD silahkan pijit tombol apa saja, tapi ingat tombol yang ada di keyboard ya bukan tombol kamera digital anda apalagi tombol HP.
* Setelah masuk ke setup menu, nanti ada pilihan untuk tekan R untuk repair, anda tekan huruf R di keyboard anda untuk masuk ke Repair command line.
* Ketika masuk tunggu sebentar jangan langsung enter kecuali kalau anda ingin reboot :P
* Apabila ditanyakan system mana yang mau anda perbaiki biasanya ada pilihan nomor 1 C:\Windows seperti itu pilih 1 dan enter.
* Nanti anda akan ditanyakan password Administrator komputer anda silahkan di isi dan enter
* Setelah berhasil login silahkan copy NTLDR dan NTDETECT.COM dari CD installer anda. Sebelumnya pastikan dulu apa nama drive CD/DVD anda. Saya contohkan disini bernama E:

Symptoms -
# Modified autoexec.bat to display a message upon system start: “Surabaya is my birthday”….."Don't kill me, i'm just send message from your computer"…and then some blah - blah in some Thai language I guess.
# Your folder has file size 40K
# All your hard disk partitions become autorun…if you right click on any partition or any drive letter it’ll give the “autorun” option instead “open”.
# All your existing original folders become hidden and are replaced by another dummy folder with same file name but with size of 40KB. If you right click on any file, the menu which opens will show “test”, “configure”….etc options but no “open” option.
Removal Steps:

Step 1:
Press Start -> Run -> cmd (or command) -> press Enter
Type in command box- cd\
Type again in command box- c:
Type again in command box- attrib -s -h -r /d /s -> press Enter
Type again in command box- del autorun.inf -> press Enter
Type again in command box- del thumb*.* -> press Enter

Repeat the same with your other hard drive partitions as well…say if you have 3 drive partitions viz. “C”, ”D” & ”E”…for this:

Type again in command box- d:
Type again in command box- attrib -s -h -r /d /s -> press Enter
Type again in command box- del autorun.inf -> press Enter
Type again in command box- del thumb*.* -> press Enter
Type again in command box- e:

If you have any USB hard drive on pen drive connected, do the above procedure with its drive name. For example if your USB drive name is “G”…

Type again in command box- g:
Type again in command box- attrib -s -h -r /d /s -> press Enter
Type again in command box- del autorun.inf -> press Enter
Type again in command box- del thumb*.* -> press Enter
Type again in command box- exit

Step 2:
Press Start -> Run -> regedit ->press Enter
Click on following (in left side window):
“HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE”->“SOFTWARE” -> “Microsoft” -> “Windows NT” -> “Current Version” -> “WinLogon”.
Now on the right side window (under data) delete “LegalNoticeCaption” & “LegalNoticeText”.

Step 3:
Go to Start menu -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System restore
This’ll open a box where you’ll get the option - “Restore my system to an earlier time”... Select any old date on which you think your system was working fine…push on next..next…till the system restore starts…
System restore takes a few minutes to complete depending on your computer speed….so be patient….after system restore completes….Your computer will restart…..the problem should have been solved.

Step 4:
Press Start -> Run -> regedit ->press Enter
Press Ctrl + F
In the find window type Surabaya if at all you find any entries in the registry with this name…”Surabaya”…delete them

Step 5:
This virus makes your system’s show hidden file option in folder menu to get disabled. To make your computer to show Hidden files, and to get your computer again back into normalcy…
Start --- Run --- regedit --- OK
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows ->
Current Version -> Explorer -> Advanced -> Folder -> Hidden -> Show All
On the right side window, locate this: CheckedValue = "0"
Modify this value to 1. (right click on the Checked value under Name column -> Modify)

Note:
This virus usually reaches to your computer through any USB drive (pen drive or hard disc). Whenever you plug your USB drive into any other computer, infected with this virus, the virus will infect this drive and will infect the next computer, in which the drive is plugged in next time. So its always advisable not to open the pen drive directly. Instead always right click on the drive and select open option. If at all you see the first option as “autorun”, after you right click on the USB drive, this means that the drive is infected.

Asumsinya survey pasar sudah dilakukan dan diperkirakan banyak peminatnya dengan harga jual yang sudah dihitung untung ruginya. Saya hanya coba bantu info untuk persiapan perangkatnya aja.

1. Tentukan ISPnya pakai apa: cable (speedy, fastnet), wireless
Kalau kabel kan gak perlu di survey lagi tinggi tower yang dibutuhkan untuk konek ke ISPnya, cuma perlu ditentukan tinggi tower untuk menjangkau jarak 3-5km client tadi

2. Siapkan satu server untuk hotspot (otentikasi, user management, BW management, billing, firewall, DHCP, DNS, kalau perlu sebagai proxy juga) pilhannya pakai mikrotik aja karena cukup satu server sudah bisa menyediakan layanan tersebut.

3. Siapkan tower dengan ketinggian yang bisa menjangkau client jarak s.d 5km (hitung juga fresnel zone, dll). karena kalau jarak client 1km tapi ada bukit yang menghalangi tingginya sktr 25m, berarti towernya harus lebih tinggi dari halangan itu.. he..he..

4. Siapkan wireless radio (sebagai Access Point) dan antenanya (bisa omni atau sectoral). pilihannya tergantung budget juga, satu set ini berkisar 1,5jt - 5jt (apalagi kalau pakai sectoral)

5. Siapkan perangkat untuk client juga (stok untuk 5 set lah), jarak <1km>1km bisa pakai wireless radio+Yagi atau grid..

6. Tinggal setting di Server Mikrotik, Wireless AP dan Client.. manualnya bisa liat disini

Kill WGA WIndows XP

1. Use regedit and goto
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINES\SOFTWARE
\Microsoft\WindowsNT
\CurrentVersion
\Winlogon\Notify
delete folder "Wgalogon" and all the contents

2. set your system folders to unhide Folder view or you won't see dllcache folder (Windows Explorer-Tools-Folder Options-View-hidden files and folders-show hidden files and folders)
3. go to c:\windows\system32,
rename WgaTray.exe to WgaTray.exeold
rename Wgalogon.dll to Wgalogon.dllold

4. go to c:\windows\system32\dllcache, rename WgaTray.exe to WgaTray.exeold (kalo ada, kalo ngga ada cuekin)

5. kill wgatray.exe from TASK MANAGER (teken Ctrl+Alt_Del). Done.

If still have problems, reboot the computer and login to windows xp in safe mode and repeat the above steps

Setelah sudah dimasukkan tekan tombol View Profile. Scroll window ke bawah dan lihat hasilnya dengan mengklik album yang ada.
